THE GOAL
Create a buzz for a Frontier Bank’s new branch in Downtown Sioux Falls.
THE PROCESS
Frontier Bank opened a new branch in the heart of Downtown Sioux Falls. In order to create awareness for current customers and people in the community, our goal was to create a buzz about the technology and layout of the new branch. We did a photoshoot in the downtown area, utilizing familiar settings that are easy to identify. We captured how customers use their banking in downtown. Whether it is a nice meal at Minerva’s or shopping at a great boutique, Frontier Bank offers the best way to manage their finances. The images were used to create a large window wrap at the branch location until the space was finished. We also created a unique brochure to highlight the services. The brochure was paired with a gift box of goodies from other downtown businesses. It was delivered door to door to downtown businesses by the bankers themselves about a month before the branch opened. We also created door hangers with the same images and information to inform the residents living in downtown that a new bank would be opening in their area.
Next we started planning their grand opening. When we learned that the interior design for this branch would be a midcentury modern design, we immediately chose a classy “Madmen” theme for the invite. We utilized black, white, and red to keep it sharp and clean. We sent the invites to current customers along with residents and businesses in the downtown area. We had a banner hanging on the skywalk in downtown for maximum exposure. We also held a ribbon cutting through the Chamber of Commerce. The party was held in the bank space and building lobby with wine, heavy apps, and live music from the Hegg Brothers. Frontier Bank was the first bank in Sioux Falls to have an Interactive Teller machine. We were able to secure some great PR with interviews from local news stations to discuss the ITM and Grand Opening. Many of the party goers were about to experience the ITM for themselves.
THE OUTCOME
- A huge turnout for the Grand Opening and Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting
- Several new accounts opened in the Downtown location.
